Star Trek picture puzzle

One of the magazines I work for on a regular basis - the excellent SFX, likes to give me difficult challenges from time to time and this is the latest. What they wanted was a spread to go in the superb Star Trek special (available now at your local newsagents or on line) showing visual references to as many episode titles from all Star Trek series as I could fit in. From a list of 100 I managed to squeeze in 87. You'd have to be a total Trekkie to get them all methinks. It was a really fun job and the sort of challenge I love. Hope you like it.

Batman

In the current issue of SFX magazine the best Sci-fi mag in the world (OK I'm biased) as well as my usual spot illustrating The steamed Nick Setchfields words for Deveopment Hell I was asked if I'd like to do 6 drawings of Batman for an article about what it would really be like to be the Caped Crusader.

They didn't want my usual cartoony line and wash style but something a bit more Neal Adams so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try out my new skills as a digital painter. And here are the results. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out though Batman's torso on the Psychiatrist one is a bit shit. I should have just modelled his rippling muscles myself. Yeah, right! We all have our delusions.

SFX

This months issue of SFX has three (count 'em!) THREE articles illustrated by yours truly.

I have a regular spot in the mag called Development Hell written by the legendary Nick Setchfield where I illustrate a film that is in development. This can mean that we don't know who is starring or directing or even what it's about. Sometimes we only have the title as in last month's article which was about a film called Boy Scout versus Zombies.

Anyway, this month was about a sequel to the old movie Twins with Danny de Vito and Arnie. It's to be called Triplets and has Eddie Murphy joining the others as the third triplet. I was also asked to draw famous aliens in the style of a Victorian etching. That was fun! And finally a mock-up poster of a 1920s version of War of the Worlds which was planned but never filmed. So my thanks to SFX for three really fun jobs.

SFX- The Jetsons

I have a regular spot in SFX magazine- the best magazine in the known universe (I'm slightly biased)
which reports on all thing Sci-Fi. I illustrate a regular feature called Development Hell about upcoming film projects and those that have stalled.
The article is written by the esteemed Nick Setchfield who once got a mention in an issue of The Fantastic Four. Much bowing and tugging of, long gone, forelock.

The current issue (on sale at all reputable newsagents) features my cartoon depicting a film version of the old Hanna-Barbera cartoon The Jetsons to be produced or directed (or something) by Kanye West who is a lifelong fan of the show. I've added some previous cartoons too.
