Independence Day 2

In my regular spot in SFX magazine I am called upon to visualise films that are in development or even just being planned. That means that sometimes I have very little to go on beyond the title. Sometimes we don't know who will be starring in it, directing it or what it will be about. In the current issue of SFX the film in question is a sequel to the wonderful big budget B movie Independence Day and the only info they had was that Will Smith isn't going to be in it. Here's how it turned out. I had fun drawing the alien and all it's tentacles. FZZZZZZAP!!!

Jasmine and Michaela

This week on two consecutive nights I was lucky enough to draw two models who were new to me and they were both fabulous. On the Monday night at Kate Shields' private session in her lovely flat overlooking Brighton sea front our model was the truly beautiful Jasmine whom Kate had met at Glastonbury. A small group of artists attempted to capture her loveliness on paper.
On the following night at the SCAC session we had another new model Michaela who was also
fantastic to draw as I hope you'll see from my scribblings. I'm off back to Palma next week where I have yet to find a drawing session so it was great to draw these two wonderful models before I go.

Zoe

Zoe was our model on Tuesday night at Bill's life drawing session at the SCAC. She's slim and tanned and very goo
d to draw. That night she had a feather in her hair giving her a Native American Indian Squaw look which appealed to me greatly being a bit of a fan of all things Wild West.

2 Lauras

This week I drew 2 different Lauras on 2 consecutive nights.
On Monday at The Farm Tavern a small class of drawers (just me and the organiser) attempted to capture the fabulous Finn- Big Laura and on the Tuesday night at SCAC a full studio tried to capture the long limbed loveliness of Slim Laura.
Here are my best ones.

3 Models

I've managed to fit in three life drawings sessions since I got back from Majorca, two at SCAC on Tuesday nights and one on Sunday afternoon at Jake's studio in New England House. Here's a compilation of the best scribblings. The excellent models were Laura, Lucy and Chiara. I need to fit a few more in before returning to paradise island where I can find no classes. Alas!

Jake Spicer's Drawing Circus

The other night I went along to another of Jake Spicer's excellent drawing events.
This time it was in the main hall of The Old Market so there was plenty of room. The event started in the afternoon but I went along to the evening part which ran from 8 to 11. There were 6 model. 5 girls and one guy. They were painted white all over to give a kind of Pierrot effect and their poses were accompanied by an excellent group of musicians playing drifty, ambient music which leant to the relaxed vibe. very enjoyable. Here are my best ones.

Amy,Osami and Marie

One of the problems about doing a lot of life drawing and then posting up the best ones is they take ages to scan and tweak before they are ready for the eager eyeballs of one's adoring public. I've done quite a lot of drawing over the last few weeks to make up for the time's when I'm in Palma which is surprisingly free of drawing classes. So here is a compilation of three sessions with my friend and muses Marie and models Osami and Amy.
